
Scholarship Purpose: The Curt Benz Memorial Youth Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 to honor the memory of Curt Benz. The purpose of the fund is to assist and aid the spiritual development of children and youth by helping with registration fees to church-approved camps and youth trips. The intention of this scholarship is that it be used primarily for Camp Fairwood summer camps and secondarily for designated youth ministry summer trips. The scholarship may also be used to provide aid to children and youth who may be unable to attend these camps or trips without some financial assistance.

- Step 1 - Families will complete the Curt Benz Youth Scholarship application and return it to the church office by no later than June 1st of the current camping season.
- Step 2 - The application will be reviewed to discern whether the applicant is an approved candidate for scholarship. Their decision will be based on
- 1) The timeliness in which the application is received
- 2) The level of need discerned by the scholarship review team.
- 3) Fulfillment of the specified scholarship expectations.
- Step 3 – A member of the review team will then respond to the family indicating whether or not the applicant is an approved for scholarship.
- Step 4 The parent or guardian of approved applicant will complete any registration forms required by the camp or ministry and return them, to the church office:

Verona, WI 53593 - Step 5 - Contingent upon an approved candidate’s scholarship expectations being fulfilled Memorial Baptist Church will issue payment to either the church-approved camp or designated youth ministry summer trip. The applicant’s parent or guardian will be responsible for any remaining deposits and/or registration fees.
Scholarship Expectations*
Expectation 1- Regular Attendance in one or more of Memorial’s scheduled Sunday School, AWANA, or Youth Connection programs
Expectation 2- Discipleship & Fellowship
- Kindergarten - 6th Grade: Demonstrates diligent effort in completion of designated Sunday School or AWANA discipleship materials.
- Grades 7-12: Actively involved in designated discipleship opportunities in our Youth Connection and/or Sunday School ministries.
Expectation 3- Fellowship
- Behavior The approved candidate must agree to all the behavioral guidelines and expectations of Camp Fairwood or other mission or ministry partners.
